From the 22nd July until the 1st August 2007 Trini sailors Wesley Scott, Mark Peters, Russell Franklin and Daniel Briggs will be representing Trinidad & Tobago at the 2007 IODA World Championships in Sardinia, Italy. Coaching the team is Diego Benincasa, from Argentina, and our very own Debbie Scott as team leader.

The individual races commence on Wednesday 25th July and the last race will be on Wednesday the 1st August 2007. Country team races are carded for the weekend for these young sailors, and a well-deserved rest day on Sunday.

The Optimist sailors are however not the only Trini youth sailors making their way to Europe this summer. Laser Radial sailors Alistair Affoo, Andrew Lewis, James Leighton, Matthew Scott and Stuart Leighton will be in Scheveningen, the Netherlands from the 2nd until the 11th August 2007 for the Laser Radial Youth World Championship 2007.
Together with their coach James Tilley the boys have set out an intense training program of sail and physical training 5 days a week over the next few weeks before the ‘Worlds’ in their aim to sail themselves into the top 20 of the Worlds best Laser Radial Youth sailors.

TTSA is most proud to have these young sailors represent our country in the Netherlands .We wish Wesley, Mark, Russell, Daniel, Matthew, James, Stuart, Alistair and Andrew, all the best and we are confident that their performance will indeed reflects their positive and winning attitudes towards sailing.
